JACKSON ROBERTSON

Musgamagw Dzawada'enuxw artist Jackson Robertson was born in the Kwakwaka'wakw village of Kingcome Inlet in 1956. Jackson has been carving large plaques, talking sticks, paddles, masks, bowls and totem poles for over 40 years.

Robertson has long been one of Nanaimo's better known carvers, often working at the waterfront or with family members in various workshops in the downtown area. Robertson's prolific creativity has been admired by many collectors from all over the world, and it is no surprise that his pieces are sought by many smaller galleries on the northwest coast of Canada and the USA.

Robertson was pleased to be a part of "Canadian Pickers." While on a selling trip to Vancouver, he met Scott and Sheldon on BC Ferries - and his appearance on their TV show "Win Some, Lose Some" was aired on September 3, 2012.
