Oxidized Copper Vessel
This beautiful copper vase hails from the gallery of family Hernandez Cervantes in the Pueblo Magico Santa Clara del Cobre, Michoacan Mexico. These pieces are forged in the fire and had pounded into shape over a time cosuming process. Part of the process in making these vessels includes filling them with beeswax, which eventually hardens enough to allow the artist to hit the copper from the exterior without damaging or denting the piece. Once the piece is complete, a torch is used to liquify the beeswax so it may be removed. This piece is oxidized, so will not change colour or oxidize over time.
A lovely collectors piece, we ship directly through Fedex from Mexico.
