Born on June 30, 1960 in Hazelton BC, John Lancaster belongs to the Namg'is nation, whose traditional village site is located at the mouth of the Nimpkish River on Vancouver Island prior to their relocation to Alert Bay on Cormorant Island.  John Lancaster was taught design and engraving techniques from his father, Herbert Lancaster, and worked alongside his brother Don Lancaster.  Now working with his brother Herb Lancaster, John is well known for his traditional sterling silver and 14K gold pieces, and has carved out a niche creating very affordable jewellery from copper with silver overlay.  John remains dedicated to crafting beautiful pieces for everyone to enjoy.
